The Recipe: Superfood Chocolate Bars with Pollen
Ingredients (for about 10–12 pieces)
- 250 g pitted dates
- 3–4 tablespoons nut butter (e.g., almond butter or coconut butter)
- 150 g dark chocolate (at least 85% cocoa content)
- 2 tablespoons HOYER flower pollen
- Optional: freeze-dried strawberries, coconut chips, hemp seeds
Preparation
- Preparing the dates: Place the dates in a small baking dish and press them down evenly with a spoon or your fingers to create a compact base.
- Top it off with nut butter: Spread the nut butter generously over the dates. Place them in the freezer for a short time (about 10 minutes) to let the mixture set.
- Melting chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, then pour it evenly over the chilled date layer.
- Topping: Sprinkle with pollen, freeze-dried strawberries, or coconut chips right away—before the chocolate sets.
- Chill & Cut: Put it back in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Then cut it into bars or squares—and you're done!
