Start the day healthy and full of energy with fluffy matcha pancakes, refined with delicious honey! These green beauties impress with their slightly tangy matcha flavour, which harmonizes perfectly with the sweet honey note.
Ingredients (for approx. 8 pancakes):
- 175 g flour
- 2-3 tsp baking powder
- 3 tsp matcha powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tsp honey + extra for serving
- 250 ml milk (or plant-based drink of your choice)
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp neutral oil
- A little clarified butter or oil for the pan
Preparation:
- Make a thick batter from the ingredients listed.
- Fry the pancakes: Heat a frying pan over a medium heat, add a little clarified butter or oil and pour the batter into the pan in batches.
- Bake the pancakes for approx. 2 minutes per side until golden brown and fluffy.
- Serve: Drizzle the warm pancakes with extra honey and enjoy with fresh fruit, if desired.
Tip: If you like it extra nutty, you can also sprinkle chopped almonds or walnuts over the pancakes!
