Unser Besuch bei TranzAlpine Honey in Neuseeland – hautnah bei der Manuka-Honigernte

Our visit to TranzAlpine Honey in New Zealand - up close and personal with the manuka honey harvest

A very special moment for us: we were able to visit our long-standing partner beekeeping company TranzAlpine Honey in New Zealand and gain a deep insight into the fascinating world of Manuka honey.

We have been in almost daily contact with Yuriy and his team for over 10 years - even if the 12-hour time difference doesn't always make it easy. But experiencing the Manuka honey harvest for yourself is something completely different.

Experiencing for the first time how much passion, nature and lifeblood goes into every jar of Manuka honey from New Zealand was something very special!

A look behind the scenes of the manuka harvest

The manuka plant (Leptospermum scoparium) only flowers for a few weeks a year - a short, intensive window of time in which everything has to work together perfectly. Weather, flowering, location and bee health determine the quality of the Manuka honey. This is precisely the time when TranzAlpine is in full swing.

Together with the beekeepers, we were able to experience a real Harvest Day and see how much manual work, expertise and respect for nature goes into every jar of TranzAlpine Manuka honey.

An absolute highlight

We were able to taste the fresh Manuka honey straight from the comb.
Warm, aromatic and incredibly tasty - a moment you won't soon forget.

We also got an insight into how the honey is processed in the next stage of production. We were able to follow every step, from the extraction to the final bottling in New Zealand.

An unforgettable experience that once again confirmed our trust in the quality and sustainable working methods of our partner.

Sustainability and tradition - hand in hand

We were particularly impressed by how consistently TranzAlpine has relied on ecological, sustainable beekeeping for generations. The bee colonies are located far away from agricultural land - in the middle of the wild nature of the South Island.

The honey produced here is as pristine as the land itself.
